They believe he might be too sensitive to do his job. Student’s Name:_____ The Book Thief by Markus Zusak Multiple Choice - Prologue, A Mountain Range of Rubble, and Part One, The Grave Digger's Handbook 1. Who places Liesel Meminger in foster care? a) Her grandfather. b) Her mother. c) Her father. d) Her aunt. Size: KB.

Course Topics. In this course, you'll cover these key topics: Literary context for The Book Thief such as the genre, timeline and setting ; The conflict, colors, climax, and criticism of the novel.   "The Book Thief" was published for adults in Zusak's native Australia, and I strongly suspect it was written for adults. Adults will probably like it (this one did), but it's a great young-adult.

THE GOOD THIEF isn't a horrible book; it starts out mildly interesting and features an understated, somewhat folktale-ish (not quite mythic) narrative voice that many might find appealing. However, after beginning with a promise of a grand adventure, the novel collapses into a microcosmic world peopled unbelievably by coincidences/5(). The boy is the book thief's brother. Their mother is taking them to a town near Munich to foster parents. But, the boy begins coughing very hard and then dies. His mother is asleep when Death comes onto the train. Then, the book thief, whose name is Liesel Meminger, sees that her brother, Werner, has died.
